Flash Arduboy Games to POOM

Use the POOM web game flasher in Chrome or Edge to choose, install, and launch an Arduboy game on POOM.

The easiest way to play an Arduboy game on POOM today is the POOM Games Flasher. Connect POOM, choose a game, and flash it directly from the browser. You do not need the Arduino IDE or a development toolchain.

Desktop browser required: use Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop with a data-capable USB-C cable. The Games Flasher uses Web Serial and does not work in Safari, Firefox, or on mobile devices.
  1. Turn POOM completely off.
  2. Hold B for 3 seconds, keep holding it while turning POOM on, and confirm that the screen stays black.
  3. Connect the data cable to the USB-C port on the right side of POOM.
  4. Open the POOM Games Flasher in Chrome or Edge.
  5. Choose the game you want and click Flash Game.
  6. When the flasher says it is finished, turn POOM off and back on to play.
Choose a game, flash it from the web, then restart POOM to play.
Remember: flashing a game temporarily replaces the main POOM firmware. To restore all POOM tools, flash POOM again from the POOM Web Flasher.

What we are building next

ESP-NOW multiplayer between POOMs is already being enabled and tested. The next big goal is to keep the full game collection on the microSD card, so the experience becomes: SD → choose your favorite game → play. No web flashing every time—just carry your collection with you and turn POOM into a tiny portable console.
